I added a 50 watt emperor aquatic UV unit to my 150 gallon DT and the water turned crystal clear... I couldn't believe it as I thought I had clear water to begin with but it was on a completely different level within 24 hrs with the UV.
How effective is it against disease and parasites.... well that's another story.... it can help if done correctly at proper flow rates etc. However don't believe that it's going to prevent any disease in the tank.
