Hello. I just got a UV sterilizer. I have been using Vodka for the past few months in my tank to reduce nitrate and phosphate. Will using the UV sterilizer impact the efficacy of the vodka (i.e. kill the bacteria that use the vodka)? Thanks!
you should not use a UV sterilizer when using Probiotics. The idea is to let the bacteria proliferate and consume the nitrate and phosphate along with the organic C. A UV sterilizer will kill the bacteria you are trying to grow with the Carbon additions.
