Very happy with mine now that it's inline with my return instead of just pumping from/back into the sump. As long as you understand what they can and can not do, and don't expect it to perform miracles, they're great.

i use one and i couldnt tell you if it does anything cause it came with my used set up but ive never had any kind of algea bloom and my water is extremly clear.

UV's are very efficient at breaking down the organics that are accumulating for more efficient export (skimming).

UV's do this by breaking down long molecules by ionzation

UV's are great at breaking down coral warfare chemicals and at breaking organic bonds that would discolor water.
