UV Suggestions..

Im looking to add a UV to the tank. What is everyone using, or does anyone have any suggestions?

At the risk of sounding stupid...whats a UV tank?

UV = Ultraviolet Sterilizer. I am using a inexpensive Coralife unit. Seems to do the trick...keeps the water clear and the parasites down.

what size is your tank?

I have looked at the Turbo Twist a few times, looks like a decent unit. Just seems everyone rates there units differently.

My tank is a 220

I think you will find just about every manufacture will give you a so, so number.
This is due to the different applications.
If you are using it for a freshwater tank not as much is needed. Say 8 watts for a 100 gal tank(This also can very). For a salt water tank 15 watts for a 100 gal fish only tank.
I give these numbers since I have been told this and I do not keep them.
For reef tanks 0 watts per gal is the best. Other precautions are normally made so you do not need it.
If your LFS recomends it then make sure they have a tank you would like yours to look. If so follow their addvice.
There are many different ways to keep an aqaurium. Just remember you are the creater.

Definetly not sold on using one, but have been considering it. I only keep Softies and LPS, but always looking to improve the quality for the inhabitants.
