Velvet and Hypo

Well looks like velvet killed all my fish within 3 days. Now that my tank is fish less how should I proceed? Should I run the tank hypo for a few weeks then add fish? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is no reason to hypo a fishless tank. If you're sure its velvet, 6 weeks fishless should eliminate it. These parasites can't live without a fish host. If there is any chance it was ich, then 9 weeks. The timeline does say velvet.

Thanks for the reply I just wasnt sure if I hypo the tank it would speed up the process of eliminating the parasites.

It won't; and I don't believe hypo does anything to velvet anyhow. Inverts and LR are safe in the tank, though.
