Very funny LED video

The concept is tasteless but the content humorous to a degree. I couldn't help but think of the Chinese LED thread while watching that.

Trust me Ian, I am the last one to fall for hype. The Chinese units are interesting but it reminds me of when the CoraLife SuperSkimmer came out, and people bought them and though they were the greatest things ever, then after a little time with them decided they were not so great. There used to be a massive thread about them, people were modding them, trying to squeeze performance out of an inferior design, eventually it became like most of the "cheap" products in this hobby, the skimmer fell back to where it belonged, in the "cheap is what you get" category.

It would be great if the Chinese LED's stayed out of that category, but the companies selling them could not possibly care less about the reefing community, and eventually the lack of support or warranty after the sale will be shown. There have already been a few people who have figured this out, a warranty is great to have but horrible if it isn't backed up. I hope that doesn't end up being the case all around, but it would not surprise me at all if it is.

Fortunately if the product fails and the company doesn't stand behind it, you are not out a lot of money and I am glad people are trying it. :-)

Nope, but they are $2 cheaper...

The name brand company's have us expecting to pay more... Soon they will drop there prices....

Go by the full price name brand perscription.
Or listen to the guy with the degree behind the counter and buy the GENARIC..

Do you use generic medications?

No generic meds here. The main difference between AI and the generic LED's is AI stands behind their product. They do that because they care, ask David Pinder about his experience with Eshine.

That is the point, AI, EcoTech or any of the better known brands stand behind the product, they do not rely on a cheap price to sell the product and they have an actual warranty that is more than words. It doesn't matter to me what you use, and if it ends up being that these lights stand the test of time then it is a bargain, if they don't then it isn't a great loss.

As long as you are happy with it, that is all that really matters. No one is pointing and laughing at you for buying a cheap Chinese LED. If you feel you must defend them, then you have to ask yourself why? Doesn't the product stand on it's own merits?

If they cared so much don't ya think they could shave a couple hundred off for a friend?
I was lookin at $1000 to go the other way.. $360 this way...
Seriously big gap... Kinda feels like they made you pay for the warranty...
Besides that I don't trust any company's warranty...been burnt by best buy and apple in the past so trust is out...

Take a breath and relax, it is just a stupid video that means nothing.

A cheap product is cheap for a reason and I am not defending them in any way. They have the right to do dumb things, just as much as anyone else.

If you are this bothered by a stupid tasteless video, perhaps it would better to go to their sponsor page and gripe about it? You can also them about the meds they are taking and why you don't seem to be taking yours. :uhoh3:

I could care less... Just thought the video sucked 'tis all...

Like I care how much any of you spend on your lights... Doesn't affect me in the least...
