Newbie here again.

(my first thread)

I am working on a 5 gal nano. My first order of the day was to solve my water overheating. At best it was 81ish, if I closed the tops it then went to 84-85....and with the light on up to the 90ish range. I decided to go the route of "what you know" and used a computer power supply with three fans, 2 for the light and 1 in the filter area. (pics later today). Kinda did a test fitting last night and ran the tank with lights for the last 10 hours.....now its running a consistant and balmy 77.5 degrees! While I was doing all this, I removed the crappy "blue" stones and put in my playsand.

Looks like I am ready for some liverock! woohoo!

I DONT want to do mailorder, so where should I go locally for a good price on 5lbs of liverock (or someone local willing to sell me 5lbs), saltwater (or supplies), basic test kit and gravometer (is that spelled right...the salt checker tool)?

I wouldnt mind getting rock in there today! That nice pretty tank, with a nice clean sandy bottom is like a blank canvas......

MO for that much would be kind of a waste of time and $$. Go to a lfs(I always like Sea in the City's live rock). It's more expensive than someone who could sell it to you, but for 5 lbs, it's definitely worth spending a little and buying some really good stuff with excellent life.

Ok, here she is!

And here is my temporary setup....will be making a more pleasant install now that I know this will be sufficent to keep the tank cool. Total cost so far:

tank: free from garbage
power supply: free from leftover pile
fans: $12
sand: 1/5 bag of $4 sand.....$.75

computer case/cpu fans. I just used an old computer power supply I had and hooked them up. I will be doing a more "fancy" install in time, that was just kinda the testing phase.
