Vinegar bath

How long do you let your new skimmer run in vinegar water to remove the production oils? Thanks

never did this . If your worried then a rinse with vinegar if you want let dry and use. But you will have alot of micro bubbles for first few days. If this is a cycling tank then just hook it up and let it run.

Last new skimmer I bought I ran in a 3:1 vinegar/RO mix for 24hrs.

Of course some people might not do it at all and maybe just give it a quick wipe down and rinse.

No the tank has been set-up for ahwile I just got a new skimmer for it, I was reading in one of the skimmer threads that people let their skimmer run in vinegar water for ahwile to get rid of the production oils. I just don't remember how long they let it run for and I can't find the thread
