I am going to be going to WB this weekend to see my parents. I am coming from Ohio via 80. Are there any good stores not too far from 80 to stop and see. I've to the store in WB and was pleasantly surpised by it. I left the area in 1985 when I finished at King's and went into the Air Force, haven't been back much since I got back into saltwater. Back then the only place that carried saltwater was Boscov's pet department, I know becuase I got them into it when I worked there and a shop over by the main post office.

Closest is in Wilkes Barre called Finsanity. Perhaps that's the one you previously visited. If you feel like a bit further of a drive, there's Knockout Aquatics near Tannersville off of 80 (probably an additional 40 minute drive east). Also, the one I frequent is in Northampton about an hour south in the Lehigh Valley, called Something Fishy.

no problem.....i know it's a bit further of a drive then when you're staying.......but worth checking out.....they have really nice stuff there....big shop. i think they don't open until 2 in afternoon though. There's also another place very close to Knockout if you're in the area called UltraCorals

Finsanity, Pet Zone, Ultra Coral, Knockout Aquatics, and Something Fishy are the only shops I'm aware of. There's also PetCo and a place in Hazleton called Cage n Tank, but that place is really a freshwater shop with Nemo and a few friends (who are usually in terrible shape).

I haven't been in the hobby that long. I stay pretty local so pet zone---fin-sanity and scranton aquarium are the only places I've been to.
Bill Jr at pet zone is a good guy. Helped me a lot with starting up my first salt water tank. Not by selling me things or pushing stuff on me but just advise in general. I purchased all my current fish at pet zone and they are all doing great. Also get most of my dry goods from him and prices are reasonable. Corals are a little expensive so I've been getting frags from a local reefer.
Fin sanity and scranton aquarium also seem good. Knowledgable and good customer service. I'd recommend all three of these places all within a short drive from Wilkes barre.
