Vodka dosing??

Has anyone heard of dosing your reef tank with vodka or actually done it before?? I have researched it and saw that if you do it the correct way that it works great!! Is this true??

Just perform a search for it on this forum. Tons and tons of discussions about it. There are a lot of people that do it, with great results.

great results!!! ive been dosing for 10months now and no ill effects.. when is started dosing my nitrates read 25ppm. after about 3 months of dosing dropped down to 0ppm using salifert and API test kits. i can now feed my tank very heavy with no spike i nitrates.. just read alot before you start trying it.

i do not recommend vodka dosing for a new tank.

Like anything you dose in your tank you must be careful. How is your nitrate?
