Hi,
I have a 65 gallong tank currently with two tunze streams on them (not sure of the model). I'm looking to eventually (soon?) go to a 120 gallon 4' x 2'.
the tunzes have been very reliable, with about 5-6 years of service, though first purchased in 2005 (several years they were packed away not used). But I can see the vortices and the gyres will give a lot more flow and be even more even in flow, and not as targeted as the Tunzes.
I'm looking to get either two of the vortec 40's or the gyre. If I got the gyre, do I just get one? So I can have alternating flow. Or do I keep my tunzes to have them on the opposite side of the tank to give opposite flow of the gyre? I don know how much longer life the Tunze's have, though I think they will last almost forever!
Which to get, also considering how many years service will I get out of a vortec and out of a gyre (?) . **Is there a Tunze that compares to either of these as far as evenness of flow? I was thinking possibly to keep what I have and get a wave box???
Thanks!
