Vortech 1 Cleaner Shrimp 0

Had a nice chunk of cleaner shrimp sticking out of the vortech. Anyone else experience any similar casualties?

Just molts here as well. Are you sure it is the shrimp and not its' molt?
How old was the shrimp?

was the meaty part of the shrimp. shrimp was about a year old. My fish finished him off.

possibly already dead and the body got sucked in ?

Our cleaner shrimp literally plays around our Vortec.. and we keep it around 90% - 100% throttle. So I would be surprised if one got sucked in while alive. Either way I am sorry to hear of your loss

Sorry to hear but it would be very unusual for this to happen. We have 2 Votech's on a 180 for about 1 1/2 years without any problems. Unless you saw it actually happen then my guess wouldn't be the Vortech. The cleaner shrimp has been in the tank longer than that...
