Vortech bad

Icecap notified me that I need a new power supply because this one is bad. (No water damage) The new power supply costs $50. Why is this not covered under a warranty ? Is all parts covered under the same warranty period as the Vortech itself ?

Also the wet end has to be replaced. $75. The frame is not damaged. The wet end is totally rusted.

So now after I paid $350 for a new Vortech 2 years ago and another $75 for the wireless upgrade, I now have to pay $125 to have it running again ?

I will double check Monday but your pump did NOT arrive for service with a wireless upgrade, it had the driver from day 1 with serial number beginning with 0606. Yes the magnet was deteriorating badly and also had the original wet side components that were totally worn out.
 
Understood. I have 4 Vortech's. I originally talked to Chris about sending in 3 of them at once for repair and decided to send in one at a time. I also have 3 WDD upgrades. 2 of them from Marine Depot and 1 as a gift. I only use 3 at a time on a 90g (cant fit another one on because of the overflow).

I ended up sending in parts from all of the bad ones to consolidate in one shipment (wet end, bad power supply, hot motor). This way I would not have to send every pump for individual problems. I thought it was a smarter way to go. I sent all of them in with the old driver unit as I am using the WDD on the other 3 units so my Vortech's would still be in sync.

I am sorry I didn't explain it better and hope this clears things up a bit. The serial # of the WDD for that unit is #W07101423
