If i ran just one of these in my 60 cube, will it still create that wave affect? and how will this affect a DSB?

I have a vortech on a 30" x18" x24" tank. The vortech has to be kept on the lowest setting to keep from blowing sand. I don't have the wave controller but my guess is it won't cycled low enough to work on small tanks with sand. But it may work.

Probably a question for the ecotech forum. I doubt many people have received theirs yet. Mine just shipped today about 2 hours ago.
