Vortech on a 58?

I'm planning on picking up a vortech next weds. I'm a little concerned that this might be too much flow (even on lowest setting) for a 58. I'd like to hear about other peoplep's experience in a smaller tank.

I'm running Vortechs on both a 45G and a 70G with no problems -- in fact the 70G really needs another one to eliminate dead spots. I know the unit with the wireless adapter allows you to adjust the flow so you can control the flow rate as well as the flow pattern. I don't know how wide the 58G tank is, but on my 45G (36") I can place it in the back center of the tank and it seems to hit just about everything :)

I've been very pleased with both units since I've owned them, as well as with their support -- I had to call them once to order foam guards.

It is very adjustable, even without the wireless controler. It would be OK. For the money, you could also look at two controlable Nano Streams for comparison.

Thanks. I'll check out the nano streams but the vortech is at a 30% discount so its hard to beat.

My mentor has 2 on a controller, but look at the Koriala's for the price. I have 5 in my tank on a wave maker, no problems, for the price of one Vortec, you can have allot of Korolias!!!!!!!!

What kind of wavemaker are you running them on? I was under the impression that they don't do well on wavemakers.

If your local to That Fish Place they have a discount voucher once a week for 30% off any one item in the store from 1/9/08 until 1/30/08. TFP is about an hour and half from me. I would have to make two trips for the nano streams assuming they give me a second voucher.
