OK, I am just about ready for my next project. I am looking for a 30 gallon breeder (36x18x12) or 40 gallon breeder (36x18x16) size tank (prefer the 30 gallon size). If anyone in the Central WI area has one of these that they would like to sell, please let me know.

I have a 30 gal regular 12"x36" that will be available shortly. I'm thinking end of November. It's an "experienced tank, and if transported correctly, will not need to cycle. Has metal stand. I could drill it - or it will come with an overflow box with a tube that has Jons spit on it. (thinking 60$ - but I couldbe up for a trade.)

Anyone interested should pm.

30 Breeder

30 Breeder

I saw a 30 breeder at Craig's store in Appleton(Just Pets)
I don't remember the exact price, but it seemed reasonable.

If I were going to turn anything into a sump, it would be my current 10 gal. I want to reuse my current pc light which is a 40 watt x2 Current USA Orbit fixture. It seems to work fine at 16" depth (breeders) but at you get closer to 18" (talls) it really begins to peter out. The 20L will give me a couple more inches of front to back and several more inches of side to side. The refuse is planned to be behind a false wall on one side, kinda a two birds one stone, without buying a new light thing.

If you put 2" of sand in a 18" tank it makes it 16" deep, and if you put your light needy corals close to the top, they don't know how deep the tank really is. Just a thought.

True, I never really thought of using sand that way.

I already have about 1.5 inches of LS which 'looks' deep and when I had my yellow damsel, who liked to tunnel under my base rock, created an avalanche treat. I tested my Current USA by propping it up on two boards set on end to simulate an 18" deep tank (measured from stand top). Adding more sand would only buy my another 1/2" to 3/4". I didn't care for the dimmer light at the base of my LR (16" depth vs. 18" depth) and I am sure adding several inches of salt water will dim the light a bit more. I typically only run one of the two bulbs to keep WIS Public Service from getting anymore of my $$$.

I may build a PVC structure to support the LR in my next tank.
