Wanted: Opinions on Compact Lighting Systems

I also have experience with aquatraders. I got the fixture within 3 days of ordering it. The MH/PC/lunar lights fixture has been up and running for 3 months with no problems. I have witnessed excellent coral growth in the tank that it lights.

Anyways, that thread probably has you scared. If I read it, I would have been worried too.

But if you are looking for a deal, I'm sure that their successes outweigh their failures.

Cowcio,

What brand are those lights? I've seen that web site and thought the prices were good.
Thanks

Thanks. That's what I was looking at. I'm just concerned about the quality considering the good price.

I can only talk from experience. I have had no trouble with my unit and I even use the bulbs that it came with. Of course, they do not compare to the lighting I have on my 200 gallon tank. However, that lighting was much more expensive. I use this unit on my 45 gallon that I have at my college apartment.

I leave the PCs on for 12 hours every day and the MHs for 5. Not once have they malfunctioned.

While I'm not trying to promote this as being "the best", I will say that you definitely get your monies worth and you should recieve a functioning product.

What would you guys do? My 8 month old PC fixture is due for a bulb change. It will cost me $60 bucks to replace the bulbs. So here's my question. Should I buy replacement bulbs or should I upgrade to a Nova T5 fixture for $160? Just have softies and lps. TIA

here is one way to look at it.
in the two years that your T-5 bulbs should last last, you will replace your PC lights 3X
3X60= $180

and they run cooler than PC MUCH cooler
