Personally I'd like to get the tank off the stand about 9 AM - then we'll have the whole day to do some work.

Adrian is in Lauderdale Lakes a couple of blocks from Commercial and 441. We would just need a few guys for like 15 min and then you'd be free to go if you wish.

The tank is coming off the stand because the sumps can't come out without removing it. I'd rather do most of the work on the sumps with lots of room rather than trying to work under the cabinet.

We are going to see if we can strengthen the stand as well as build a box to lift it up higher as well as cutting out the bottom of the stand. The end result will put the tank at a better viewing height and give us more room within the cabinet.

I've asked Adrian what he wants as an end result from this tank and of course the answer was predominant SPS tank. I "believe" that I have convinced him to make this a softie tank that will be more forgiving for someone with his experience. After a few years under his belt - he'll be ready to tackle some SPS. This will also eliminate the absolute need for MH's, chillers, etc.

What I see that he needs in the near future is a good return pump. Something along the lines of a Reeflo Dart or comparable.
A kick butt skimmer (I've suggested he talk to Manny unless he wants to pay big $$$ for one that would handle his 210) and some lights. Looking for maybe T5 and/or VHO combination.

Order of priority is Pump, Skimmer, Lights.

So if anyone has anything like this laying around collecting dust, Adrian just might be interested.

For lighting, thought I don't have it for sale, might I suggest 2 6' T5s retros with reflectors. It's relatively inexpensive both to run and buy (compared to a whole new fixture), it'll be fine for most soft corals and a lot of LPS, and when you want to upgrade (presumably to SPS in the future) then you can either stick more T5s on it (or add as you go) or use the T5 for actinic supplement and stick some real man's halides on it :p

How about a little giant 4mdqx-sc

Yes, that would be comparable to an Iwaki. If it were me, I'd prefer an Iwaki but if the price is right ???????

Are you selling one?

Trade who? for what?

Let me look at the specs first. I know you have a little giant already. Which one is it that you have? You said it was like 800 gph. You are looking for something that will do like 1000 - 1200 gph with at least a 5' head. If you find something that will do 1200 at 6' head, that would be great.

If it's a trade for the little giant 4mdqx-sc then yes. That one will work for you. But still tell me exactly what it is you have already. I want to look it up.

Adrian,

Have you found any neighbors or other volunteers yet? We can't do anything tomorrow if we can't get the tank off the cabinet.

i have a brand new blue panworld 50px-x. i paid like 160$ for it.

1110 gph.

id take 110$ if you want it.

I have a barracuda pump pushing my 210. Enough flow in the tank for any coral, and it does my Etss 800 skimmer as well so i dont think the dart would be too much for the 210.

Its not that heavy, you guys are over exaggerating me and my dad carried my 210 from my drive way into my house and then up on the stand by our selves

I gotta see if im available the wifey prob wont let me out the house 2morrow i worked 2many hours this week.

This is true IF he ends up with a skimmer that he could run off the return pump. I spoke with him about this earlier tonight.

The original plan was just a return pump and nothing more. Last I heard he is talking to someone about an ETSS skimmer. If he ends up with then he definately needs a bigger pump.

Myself and just one other carried my 150 as well. Although it wasn't easy, it wasn't too bad either. It would just be much easier with 4 people - one on each corner.
