Wanting to test my T5's...

I think I remember the club buying an instrument to test the output of lights. Was wondering who has it and can I borrow it to test my lighting. I want to see how my T5's really stack up with Mh's.

Thanks,
Robert

Yes, we have a club PAR meter. I have it. I think there was a line that had formed back when Gary first got it. It is difficult to use currently because it needs a kind-of mount setup thingy to keep it level in the tank. I went to lowes and picked up the right kind of screw to mount it, and haven't yet gotten around to trying to rig something up. You are welcome to use it.

Do we have the "mount thingy"? I would like to use it this week if at all possible. I could come get it.

Thanks,
Robert

Here's the list that I found on the thread Jack referred to. I've bumped that as well, because it has the numbers that Gary tested and talk of a mounting "thingy." I really don't care if I get it next as I don't think it will make me change my lighting set-up, but I would like to eventually get it so that I can contribute to the data gathering. I think the important thing is that we try hard to get through this list quickly once the mounting issue is taken care of so that everyone gets some love.

We don't have a mount thingy. That is what I was going to experiment with. There is a threaded hole in the sensor, and I purchased a screw that fits that exactly. So all I have right now is the screw, and some scraps of acrylic. It is still useful without the mount, IMO, but not nearly as useful as it would be if you could keep it at a stable angle. I can't close my canopy on it while holding it, so that is problematic as well (my lights are mounted on the lid of my canopy).
