War Coral Question

See the attached picture. My War Coral has some white spots on it that just started to show up. I've had it for about 5 weeks with no issues to this point. My parameters are in check - 1300 mg, 9dkh, 420 cal etc...

Any suggestions / ideas on the cause? Is it bleaching or something else?

I moved a bubble coral close to it about a 2 weeks ago (4 - 5 inches away) so I was thinking maybe it got stung but I am not sure.

If its bleaching - could it be from too much light even though the area closest to the light looks fine, its the lower area of the Coral where the issue is. The coral is diagonal / vertical on a rock. My best guess is its getting a PAR of 250 - 275 at the peak of the day for 3 hours.

Thanks.

It was hard to tell from your pic, but I think stinging is a possibility. Bubbles do most of their dirty work at night so you might check it out then. Bubbles are fearsome stingers IME. I've seen them nuke acan polyps very quickly. I'd put a little distance between the two just to be safe.

I have had similar spots on mine for weeks now, and it seems to be nothing. Also, I have noticed it is growing extremely fast right now, and that those bubbles appear towards the middle of the colony, where it would have to expand over itself to grow, or where it is lacking room to grow. The outer edges of mine have lots of space to fill in, so I believe it is merely growing pains. I would not worry unless it bleaches or the tissue bursts.

I believe it's new growth, i get the same lighter color around the edges of mine where it is growing in, and also on top of the coral every now and then, there is nothing close to sting it, so i believe its just natural.

I had something similar happen to my war coral but the skeleton was exposed in the two spots. I dipped it to be safe and it has come back looking better than ever.
