Watchman goby question

I have a Watchman gobie in my 10gal tank and Im wondering what is involved in trying to pair him with another Watchman. Is it difficult? What should I look for? I believe mine is a male because his color is pretty faded and he's developing dark stripes on his body.

NicoleC? Any tips?

Thanks.

Color is not necessarily indicative of sex. The females *tend* to be gray when in a pair. However, they also have some chameleon abilities and may fade to match their surroundings; overnight they are also usually white or very pale.

YWG's are not sexually dimorphic. So it's mostly a trial and error process, but if you get a pair it will be love at first sight. You'll need a 6 week QT period before the pairing attempt, and leave the QT up in case you need to remove the rejected fish. Or better yet, catch your YWG (bottle trap works for these guys) and attempt to pair in a second QT tank until you get a match.

Happy reading -- this is all about my pairing attempt. My original plan to get a juvenile wasn't a good idea!

No, not as long as the tank conditions are good. They are fairly sedentary. I keep two gobies plsu two shrimp in a 20g regular, and they hardly go to the other side of the tank at all.
