water changes

I have just hooked up a system to do my water changes automatically and I am wondering if the pvc glue will have any effect on the water going into my display tank. Will I have to wait untill the odor is gone? Thanks for any help.

I would think you are OK as it's made for use with drinkable water lines etc.

To be safe, I always flush the new plumbing into a bucket. If its plumbed in so its difficult to flush, you can hook up an adapter with hose barb and flexible hose to get it into a bucket.

I have mine plumbed to fill, but I pump out into buckets. How did you hook up the drain? I was always afraid of backups putting nasty water into the tank. Are you using check valves or shutoffs?
