Im not sure what you mean by volume of circulation. Do you mean tank turnover rate?

not the tatal volume of the tank but the volume of water being circulated by the pumps. do you add the pumps in the tank itself or just whats going through the sump

Both but you need to account for head loss on the return pump.

Say the return is doing an actual 1000gph and you have a 1000 gph powerhead than total in tank flow is 2000gph

cool so all i have to do is add up all the pumps the divide by the size of the tank and thats my turn over rate

But first you have to drain all the water from the display, and measure it so you know exactly how much water is actually in your tank :lol:
