Water Level

Hey all,

I'm starting to fill my 90 gallon tank. My tank stand sits on top of my carpet. It is currently about 25% full and I am filling it as soon as I make more RO/DI water. I have shimmed the right side and the back of the stand to make it more level. I used a level on the top of the tank, and on all sides the bubble is in the middle, or at most the bubble is barely touching one line. My question is, with about 25 gallons in it, the water level on one side is about 1/16 higher than the water on the other. I don't think that is enough to make a difference on the amount of stress on the tank seams but wanted some more opinions before I put any more water in. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

A good idea is to fill the tank with garden hose. 1, for leak test and 2, to see how it's really going to settle with all that weight.

...and no, 1/16th isn't an issue. Sure dead level is best, but I wouldn't worry about a 16th.

Why not shim to a point that the differnce is nearly undetectable? You'd have that much more peace of mind. No use obsessing too much, though.

Its a big deal if you have a coast to coast like I do, I had to drain the whole thing once it settle to level it, on one side of my C to C there was no water over flowing, you might want to level it, you have foam under you tank? this may help leveling.

Mine is 1/16 of an inch off also. When filled there is no noticeable water line to see that it is off a bit. I say fill er up.

I would not worry about the 16th, but make sure you have enough shims around the edges of your stand or it can warp and not support the whole tank. good luck
