Nope, the TDS is not much better than most tap water. Get an RO/DI unit. For the price of spring water, the RO/DI unit will pay for itself in 2-3 months. Check out the units at http://www.airwaterice.com. I bought the Typhoon III about 3 years ago and I've never looked back.
