wave maker on nano reef?

I've come up with a pretty simple DIY wave maker. I was just wondering how important it is overall & if it would help/hinder my 15g nano reef? I was thinking of running 2 90gph powerheads that kind of alternate or both run at the same time twice a day or both shut off for a length of time each day. I havent looked into it that much, any info on how store bought wave makers really work & the importance of them, etc would be appreciated. Thank you!
