just wondering if there were any tunze wavebox users in the area that I could come check out the performance and see how they work and sound. this would be much appreciated.

I'm not really in the area (Orlando) but if you are going to come to the sale on June 17th you can see one then. I got mine at MACNA last year and love it!

does it really wash between and behind all the rocks high and low and eliminate any dead spots?

actually the main reason I want to see one in action is for noise reasons. I want to make sure my overflows will stay silent and the wavebox doesn't hum gurgle or slosh.
It actually moves all the water in the tank back and forth. So yes you end up with no dead spots. I don't have any noise from it with my tank but I also have unusual overflows (Jetstream by Marineland) so your mileage may vary.
