wavebox vs electronic actuate ball valve

those two mechanisms do two completely different things.....

a better comparison would be an actuated ball valve and an OM 4-way...

Depends on what you want to do. An actuated valve just switches flow from one pipe to the other, the wave box actually creates wave movement (back and fore) of the whole aquarium water.
Note that a wave box may need an aquarium designed to it. Oerflow might need to be shorter as to leave more space beteen the surface and the top of the aquarium, also the aquarium has to be stronger to take the cycling loads created by the wave.
On teh other hand an actuated valv or a OM-4 or any other switching device require more piping and better pump selection.

I have ran both I think the actuate ball valve is much nicer , better to look at and no restriction on water flow. I run a 3 way actuate ball valve and when that thing is running water is flowing it slowly rotates, creating that wave affect I run mine of my aqua controller love it

Where did you get your from i am looking into them for my eductors and penductors and do the same thing off my aqua controller jr
