Wavemaker For 57g

Yes. Currently running two PP-8's in my 90g. Depending on your tank dimensions you could go with a PP-4 on higher settings or PP-8 on lower.

Also looking for an ATO. Can you use a doser as an ato? Or should i just buy an ATO and use put kalkwasser in the reservoir to dose ?

Im just looking to automate as much as possible lol

going with the DIY ATO is best option IMO. I just have a 5 gallon bucket behind the wall with cheap 15$ pump and DIY ATO kit with some tubing going to sump. Works perfect for what is needed. I have two float valves one in the sump and one in the bucket for fail safe. If your going to dose in ato you need to be sure of your consumption first prior to put kalk in and walking away. Most say to even get a controller so it doesnt overdose. If you want automated then youll need a controller of some sort.

Oh, I also have 1 PP8 and need another. Has been great thus far. It will be nice to have two with a master and slave. I have a cheap AC power head on the other end right now from a previous FW tank.

Personally I wouldn't recommend using one of the doser pumps as an ATO. This does not mean you cannot, but programming it to top off with relation to varying evaporation rates could prove difficult.

Just take your time. No need to buy everything right away. I went over a year and a half without an ATO. Even started dosing by hand at first until consumption required daily dosing.

For a wave maker get a quality one, buy once cry once. If you go cheap it just costs you more in the long run. Get a Vortex MP10 or MP40 or a pair of Tunze controllables. As for an ATO I had a JBJ and it worked great for me but I would go with a better one like the Tunze Nano ATO or a Spectrapure ATO. An ATO is one thi g you dont want to have issues with. I did kalk in my ATO res and for my tank it kept cal, alk and PH very stable. Its also cheaper and easier than 2 part dosing.
