wedding rings + saltwater = ??

well I just got married on Saturday and I am wondering if saltwater will cause any negative affects to my new wedding ring

it is a gold band without any gems or anything like that

I suppose the vice versa could be asked as well, will the gold cause any sweat to the tank inhabitants?

No problem at all. If you found a treasure chest of gold coins at the bottom of the ocean that was 200 years old, they would be as good as new.

However, take your ring off when aquascaping or you'll scratch it all up.

Hahahaha ! Good one Clark.

If it is "pure" gold and not cut with any non-precious metals it will be fine.

Congratulations !

If it came out of the quarter machine I'd take it off. :)

But since you have the real thing, dont worry about it. Mine has survived many a scuba trip with no ill effects.
Dont worry about scratching it either... its going to show wear and tear throughout your married life, the tank isn't going to be any different. Sctraches are what make the ring unique.

You glove wearers are pansies... that is why God created ciprofloxacin. :)

Never had an issue with mine either. I wear it all the time, use no gloves, etc.

And I agree with drgabe "You glove wearers are pansies... that is why God created ciprofloxacin."

Quinolones kill vibrio in humans very well... I am no fish doctor but I would think that something like cipro or levaquin would work well.

Mycobacterium infections in fish. Causing white nodules on the surface and inside of the spleen (and other nasty effects).

"No treatment possible" is what my research turns up.

As I said before, I ain't no fish doctor. However, there is a pill for active pulmonary TB. I dont know how it would for on fish... I do know for humans you need alot of it for a long time.

Now for Mycobacterium Marinum - the above, plus septra, and biaxin can be used (again in humans). Its effectiveness on livestock would be questionable at best. Surgical removal would be the ideal, but since that is going to be tough on little Nemo, prevention is better than any cure.

How is that for an answer?

i take mine off before i play in the water.
i take mine off cause it has diamonds in it, and i prefer not to get sand and junk stuck between them,
and so i don't accidently scratch my acrylic tank with it.

I have dimonds in mine and I never take it off unless I'm mixing burgers or meatloaf, etc. I have found that the saltwater and even better my pool water makes it sparkle and shine even more!
