Weight of tank

I live on the second floor of an 80 yr old 2 flat brick in Chicago and want to set up a 90 gal w/30 sump. Would the weight be a factor? It will be next to a supporting wall. TIA.

I just set up my 90 gal on my third floor apt...some places have weight regulations for tanks. Check with your super just to be safe.

water is rought 8.75 pounds per gallon i think
with tank and all i would say your at almost 1000 lbs
but rember it is evenly distributed
i woiuld try to figure out which way the floor joists go and then go opposite of them
u u run the tank the same way they do it wouldbe weaker

It will go against the joists not parallel.

yea thats what i said opposite the direction of the joist
