Yeah, my thought too. That's why he's in the jar. My son loves the creepy crawlies which is why I was curious as to what it is. So far the prevailing theory is Larva of Unknown and Possibly Hostile Nature. . .
Not sure about it being larval, unless that rock came out of a freshwater stream. Definitely looks crustacean, with the segmentation and the tail. I'd suspect mantis shrimp, except that the eyes don't look quite right for that.
Hmm... took another look at it.
There's eyballs and antennae on one end and a shrimp-tail thing on the other end. And I think maybe there's legs on the eyeball end?
I withdraw my assessment. I think it's just a really weird shrimp thing. I was seeing worm at first, but worms don't usually have visible eyeballs.
