Weird Zoa Growth

So I noticed something odd in my frag tank.

Some of my zoa frags (the ones which are growing most rapidly) never seem to open fully. The polyps open up somewhat, but never all the way....but they are growing really fast.

Im adding 3-4 polyps a week!


Frag Tank Specs

30 gallon breeder
Nova Extreme Pro 6x39 watt t5
4 ATI Blue Plus 1 UVL Actinic 1 GE 6500.

2 korali 1's for flow

20 gallon long sump


AMM-0
NITRITE-0
NITRATE-10
SG-1.025


Frags are located about 6 inches below the surface of the water.

Ideas on why they are growing like this? Too much light?

They pretty much look like they are opened up. Maybe from the pic it is hard to tell.

its like the polyps arent 100% open......I was thinking that maybe during rapid growth they do this?

From the picture it looks like the Zoa closest to the light are not opening up but the ones further from the light are correct?

If so try to move the light up an inch or too or move your zoa in a corner or further away from the direct light and see if you have the same problem in a couple of days.

lowered the rack and they seem to be opening up a bit more......I also cut back on the flow a bit.
