welcome back palys!

I had some palys years back - maybe four years back that slowly melted away and disappeared. Suddenly, tonight, six or so of them are sticking through the sand in the front of the tank close to where the original colony was! Amazing thing, it's like they went 'dormant' only to reappear so much later when tank conditions were more favorable.

anyone else have a similar experience?

My sunny d's shriveled down to just a fleshy chunk on the plug and several months later it looked like a few pimples were showing up on the fleshy patch. Two months later the frag has gone from chunk to 9 dime sized palys, I never moved the plug so maybe it was just its way of light acclimating. Ain't nature whacky?

I never understand why some Zoas/palys just shrivel up and melt away when your params are on point ..drives me mad

I had a paly pod spread all over an awesome piece of LR when I bought it. It was my favorite thing in my tank. A few weeks ago, they all fell in succession. Slow-moving death across the rock, taking out the whole colony. Nice to hear they might re-emerge one day. All the other corals, especially my 3 pods of zoas, are all doing fine. No idea what happened!
