Well Water

Anyone else use well water? Mine goes through a RODI unit; however, my tank seems to get worse when I do water changes. I have been lax on water changes lately. Changed between 30 - 40 gal over a 2 day period and my hammer receeded within 24 hours after that. Several gas wells have been drilled within a mile from my house in the past 2 years. Since then, corals haven't been doing well. Little growth and new corals don't last long at all. I need to send both RO and tank water to get analyzed I guess.

I live in middlesex twp near mars high school and am on a well. The benift is that there shouldn't be any chorline in the water so you can just prefilter with 1 and .5 micro filters with carbon as the secound and/or third stage. Just doing that; after the ro membrane my TDS is at 5-15 ppm. If i run TDS filter it comes down to nill. As for your well everybodys water is different, there is a place in the cranberry industrual park by blade runners that tests water for everything and anything you could want. A bacterial test cost like 30 bucks and a full mineral test cost about 150. Thats a little pricey but it's not really that bad compared to other places; and it's 100% white coat professional.

Gary, I'm in NewKen. If you want to bring me some buckets, I can fill them for you. Do you have a TDS meter?

Have you tried this test yet?
