Westchester Reef Club

Hello, I live in Westchester NY, and I feel like I live right in between the CT, NYC and Long Island reef clubs. So this is a feeler to see if there is any interest in starting a Westchester Reef Club. Please PM me if you have interest. If I get some interest, then I can look into getting a spot in the Reef Central club section and maybe start a facebook page.

Thanks,

Howard

First Meeting

Hello Westchester Reef Club!!

We have about eight or nine interested people (which is seven more than I was expecting, lol). I'd like to offer to host the first meeting at my house in Rye Brook on Sunday July 10th at 7pm. Please PM me and I'll give you the rest of the details.

We had the first meeting of the Westchester Reef Club last night! Four people wasn't quite standing room only, but it was fun to meet others into the hobby. I have to communicate here in the Reef Discussion section because despite multiple e-mails over the last month, no one at Reef Central has gotten back to me about starting our own forum thread. I know there are three or four others that have interest, but couldn't make it. Will set up another meeting in August!

Yep! I sold my IM40 and started a reefer 425 XL. Have a thread going on it as well

I stopped by a new local fish store on Barry Ave in Mamaroneck. Called Gill's Aquarium, and the owner Sean was nice enough to give me a preview! Will have fresh and saltwater fish and corals.

New England Frag Farmer's Market

New England Frag Farmer's Market

Hello Everyone!

Just a shout out to encourage everyone to attend the New England Frag Farmer's Market on Saturday March 11th. Its at E.O. Smith High School, 1235 Storrs Road, Storrs CT. Hours are 11am to 5pm, and I will be in room 105 with Jim Coughlin (Polywise) selling frags and I'll have a sign up sheet for anyone looking to join the Westchester Reef Club. There will be over 60 vendors and over 1000 people attending, so this is a must go event for all you reefers!

Also, I stopped by Gill's Aquarium Store in Mammaroneck last night on the way home from work. The store is up and running, looks great. Sean and Jacob are the owners and super nice guys. They offered to host the next reef club meeting, and I was thinking about a Thursday evening in April to be announced later. Also, feel free to PM me if you'd like your name added to the e-mail list for reef club meeting.

Thanks,

Howard
