Wet/Dry Sump...

I have the opportunity to purchase a 29G Tenecor Sump/Wet Dry, is this something that I need? Or can be modified into just a sump?

I have a 24g Aqua Pod.

Just dont want to waste money, if it could be spent on other things that I can really use.
