what are your thoughts abot using a wet dry in a reef situation
if i remove the bioballs and load it with rock will it be ok

ya, should work quite well, also if theres space maybe throw some caleurpa and clamp on light

it can work, but make sure you dont get detritus build up on the rock. i would just leave the rock in the display and use the space in the sump for a fuge
The problem is the design of most wet-dry systems limits the water level to what is usually too low for a refugium. You may have to do some customization to make it work.
