My tank never ceases to amaze me. A few days after I thought I "lost" my emerald crab (he actually molted which looked exactly like a dead crab) I found something in my 29gallon reef.
In late October I introduced an Eel Goby into my tank. I saw it for two days and never saw it again. It was pretty big too and I couldn't figure out how I never saw a body. Anyway I was under the assumption it was dead, probably died under a rock and my clean up crew went to work on it. So today I look under a rock behind a colony of button polyps and what do I see? The head of my bright yellow Eel Goby! It didn't come out from under the rock but it remained in visable sight for a good hour or so. I was so shocked to actually see it alive after all these months! I have NO idea what it's been eating (if anything ) especially since I haven't been target feeding him or anything like that.
I tried to entice him with a little silverside but he didn't budge. I'm seriously hoping to see him again soon... anyone have an idea on how to feed this fish? I read he's nocturnal (how do you feed a nocturnal fish anyway?) and it's hard to find any more information about this fish anyway.
On top of find my Eel Goby again, I found a new snail I never put in! What a day... imagine the suprise to a new reefer like me finding that my tank is spawning new life as well as preserving it (whether for the good or bad reasons).
