What About These

hey guys whats up .. i was wondering any suggestions on popular pairs or fish that are known to reproduce in tanks well i have a under stocked 100gl looking to fill it wanna make wise decisions

Livebearers (guppies, mollies, ecs). And yes, U can have a bucketfull of them in a marine tank if u are so inclined. No marine fish will reproduce unaded, also there are a few doable species IF u want to invest in a sistem for rearing fry. None of these can fill up yuor tank ether (1 pair only per tank).

Clownfish are pretty easy to get to pair up and reproduce, rearing the eggs is a little more difficult but if you have small system to the side you can devote to the babies then it is certainly doable.

what species of clown fish will work i have two maroons in seperate tanks i was told they would fight is it too late to see ??

some of the cardinalfish are mouth brooders and i know they have been successfully raised in tanks.

You must start with two sexually undifferentiated clowns. The dominant one will become female, the other male. Any species of clown will work but for them to breed you must have good water conditions and favorable tankmates. Raising the fry, as mentioned above requires a separate system and a way of generating food.

And as anthony says above, many species of cardinal fish can breed in home aquaria. Again, you have to have a way of protecting and feeding the youngsters.

Maroons I think are harder to pair up than Ocellaris... but that is just my personal opinion.

Get two small size Occelaris and let them decide who is going to wear the pants in the family and you'll eventually have some babies. It isnt 100% garanteed they will pair up and breed but it is pretty likely.

Some people get 3 or 4 Ocellaris and let a pair form and then remove the ones that arent paired. This works good if you LFS will trade you back for the fish later.

thanks guys ... i have two maroons alone in separate tanks im considering putting them together in the 100 gl see what happens there is no host anemone at the moment

Be sure those maroons are small. If either has sexually differentiated, there will be world war III

a few species of gobies and dottybacks aren't too difficult to get to breed either. Ya see, it isn't diffifult to get some fish to spawn as it is to raise their young.
