What antibiotic should I use

My FOWLR is having issues. I have some fishes showing fin rot and cloudy eyes. Seems like they are having some bacterial infection problem. I have the tank in hypo at 1.009, which is probably contributing to the outbreak, since its harder to have a bacteria outbreak with saltier water. Im very slowly upping salinity.
What abx do u guys suggest? Will Maracyn do the trick? Or do I need Maracyn 2 for marine tank?

melafix is contraversial but i have used it many times with great results, mostly finrot on new fish and once not too long ago on a fungus. You will have to read other oppinions and not just mine. I start treating as soon as I see something so when treatment starts the fish are not that far gone.

Some antibiotic can be used in a FO tank under some conditions. If there is very little extra lives to die off, the chance of success is greater.

Erthromycin, neomycin and kanamycin has only managable effect on nitrification bacteria, more on nitrite to nitrate than ammonia to nitrite, so there will be more nitrite than ammonia.

One has to assess the possibility of die off or ammonia surge, but if ammonia does not surge it may not accumulate quickly. There is some risk but not hopeless in use in FO DT.

Does Melafix work?

Melafix is an herbal tea elixir that claims to cure everything, and even in a reef tank. Anything that claims to cure everything usually doesn't cure anything.

Here's what they claim:
"Treats bacterial infections such as red ulcers, fin and tail rot, cloudy eyes, mouth fungus, and others in as little as 4 days. Also heals open wounds, ulcers, and damaged fins. Doesn't affect pH; safe for invertebrates. MelaFix Marine can also be used with corals to control bacterial infections, reverse coral degradation and remove parasitic flatworms."

Yeah, right!

Are you saying it's not a miracle cure? lol I was hoping the next time I get sick I would just drink that stuff.
