What are the rare/wanted/treads for clams today?

I would like to know what clams are the dream clams everyone wants. Color and Type.

What are the clams that are very rare?

And lastly what treads are people noticing with clams today? For example, you are seeing only a certain color mantel on a certain type of clam anymore, where you use to see something else all the time.

I'll second those.
I found a rainbow teardrop, so at least that's off my list.

The black and white maxima, and the blue squamosa I have seen as the rare ones today mostly, but I am not sure about the tear drop. Is that a commonly wanted pattern on a clam? Do all types of clams have this, or just one type?

Do you have a pic of your rainbow teardrop? Or anyones I guess, I dont think I have seen one in any LFS.

Edit: I went to your gallery and saw the teardrop, very nice =)

I bought that book Giant Clams in the Sea and Aquarium. Information overload! That book really covers the clam. They talk about the teardrops only being on the maxima and there is no way to farm clams of a certain color mantel too. Unreal the info in the book
