What are todays most sought after LPS corals?

Personally, I can't find Acans anywhere. Euphyllia are my favorite. Duncan's too. Anything "Aussie" is top notch and super expensive

cant remember the name but it was an orange carpet type coral. either way, bright road cone orange, wanted $200 for it.

Its all about the color

Scoly's are definitly on the top of the price chart. as already mentioned nything Aussie are also on the hot list.

Color.

As far as what specifically offers the best colors I'd say

Scolys/Chalices are probably tied for number 1. A LFS recently sold a large chalice colony for $2,300...if that tells you anything. This same store charges a flat $350 for all scolymias.

I'd say acans are a very close second. I've seen people charge $45 per polyp for rainbow acans. If you have a colony, then you're sitting on some dough!

And for that matter, anything "rainbow," consisting of at least three or more different colors, is going to cost a pretty penny and grab peoples' attention.

Scolys, chalices seem to be the hottest and rainbow acans.

I can understand scolys, but chalices? There are some really cool colors, but they just look ugly to me. Blobs of snot, but thats Just my $ .02. I wanna eventually pick up some premier scolys and some uncommon euphyllia frags.

As far as acans, it's not specifically the color of the color as number of colors per polyps. I've seen extremely nice rainbow acans go for $50-$100 per polyp. If you look at cost/area, that easily matches the price of any scolly. Then there are chalices, which I don't particularly like, but people pay hundreds for frags of the nicest ones

Ya I'd say chalice and scoly too. Some of the zoas that are named are pricey too, but thats a stupid fad. :)

Acans come in many different colors and are fairly affordable. They're my favorite lps. Chalices have some really nice colors too, but they're just too boring.
