What are your results with radion sps ab+ template??

I have a sps frag tank, I have been using the Radion radiant color template, but recently I became aware of this new sps ab+ template.
My acroporas have lost a little color with the radiant color template, and this template changes spectrum several times in the light period, while the new sps ab+ maintains same spectrum for 7 hours.
I would like to know if you have had good results with sps ab+?

Thanks a lot for your coments

Ive been running it since they released it. I get good growth/color with it.

Dont mind the arrows. Was pointin at some frags

Thanks Manny,

can I know what % of intensity are you running in your radions?
do you have XR15 or 30s, Pros? G3 or G4?
how far down are these frags from the radions?

What templete were you running before the sps ab?

Thanks a lot

I started my xr30 gen3 pro at 50% intensity and 30% brightness. Then raised the brightness slowly and now is at 40% brightness.
I have a nuvo 20 as a frag tank and frags are about 10" away from surface. The radion sits on a RMS mount made by ecotech.

Thanks a lot Manny,
brightness and intensity is the same, isn´t it?

have you modified any color adjustment in the original setting of the SPS AB+ settings?

Brightness and intensity is different levels.
Check on the ecotech app or the ecosmart live.
Yes i did modify the settings but only at the last 30 minutes, added little more hyper red level to make colors pop more when looking at them at night...
Here some top downs

Those are some great results! Have you ever checked the PAR? I've been running AB+ for a few weeks now, still figuring out the best intensity.

Manny,
your frags look great!!

When I adjust brightness intensity adjusts itself, but brightness is always higher than intensity.
I am a little confused on your setting, can you please post a picture of your ecosmart live AB settings please

if you could post a picture with the intensity of each chanel like this one would help me a lot.

I have been usiing the radian color setting, what settings did you used before AB+?

Thanks a lot

I'm new to radion.. Yesterday... And on my esl page there is only an intensity slider. I don't see brightness?

Shoot for a par of 240-280 for sps. Check out the par that Vivid Aquariums is running in the video they put out like 6 months ago. They are also running the ab+. WWC only runs par at a max of 280 to their sps but they mainly use hydra 52 units.

It's the same. One slider for each color and then one on the right is overall intensity after you set the color scheme you want.

I just started running this program Friday. I was running radiant color on 75% on G2's with the TIR lenses. I just changed to AB+ Starting at 70% and ramping to 95% over the next 4 weeks. Is this too aggressive? Zoas are stretching for light on the sand (20" directly under the light). Any thoughts?

Thanks for bringing the vivid aquarium in this thread.
I checked it and it seems them are in the low par range
I had in mind that the sweet spot for acroporas were 350-450 with T5s but for leds only I am not sure, do you have a lot of acros? are you doing the AB+ program?

thanks again

To clarify brightness and intensity, for Radions these are the exact same. Brightness is how bright your lights are going to be, while intensity is how intense they are at a certain time. For instance, with my schedule I run an 80% brightness, but because I only max out my UV and blues and leave the green, red, and white around 25%, my max intensity is 50%.

On the topic now, I've been running this program, or a close replica of it, since they first introduced the white paper a year ago. I only have frags, but the growth is decent and I have great color. I did adjust my whites about 6 months ago to be 33% as I felt the intensity wasn't enough and some corals weren't where they should be. Immediately saw results (even saved a baby frag of Purple Monster somehow) and haven't touched them ever since!

I think that because t5 tubes are so diffused that a higher par is required. Just my thought.
When I was running radion's over my old tank, I was using the radiant program and had awesome colors. Only ran it at 55%. Most of my acros were getting 200-260 par. My new tank has been set up for 13 months now and I have ran t5's over this tank from the start. I wish I would have just bought 2 more radions instead of switching to t5's. I'm not getting anywhere near the same colors I had with the led's.

I also feed and monitor my params.
Think that helps.
Never tested my par,lux or pur? (Dont know which applieds to led's?) Bit i would like to.

He explained it very well.
Im not so great at explaining..lol

Here is a shot of the frags with around 10k ish
I think they still hold color a bit.

Keep in mind WWC has a really long photo period so that factors in as well. In one of there videos they said they would run a higher par value if their photo period was less.

Yes, but they wouldn't increase it by much. I have been speaking with a few shops near me that are running only leds now. Almost all of them are running just blues for 8 hrs with 2 hrs of white green and red at low %. Par on all of them was under 300. Vivid Aquariums increased the AB+ photo period by an hr and keep most of their sps in what used to be considered low par for sps.
