What can eat an urchin?

Had a couple hitch-hiker urchins come in with Gulf of Mexico rocks (TBS).

One is doing great - growing like crazy.

Hadn't seen the other for a few days - until today. Found his spines all piled up on the bottom of the sump he was in - well away from the pump and in a chamber away from the drains.

WTH would destroy an urchin like that? He was about 1" in diameter (including spines) Spines had a redish tint.
