What can i feed my new starfish?

I just picked up a starfish for my tank from a friend that was getting rid of thier tank. I just wondering if there is anything special i need to do for it?(food ect.)

I dont think its a chocolate chip looking at the pics i have seen of them. this one is red with a little bit of white. any ideas??? i keep looking to find out.

Mine likes a chunk of shrimp and also algae/nori. I just put it in it's path and it wil find it. I'd experiment and see what it like.

Hopefully not a red general! W/o a pic, just guessing, not that I'm any expert, but some kind of fromia? Monilis maybe?
