i have a 29 gallon AGA, and wanted to know if i could keep a keyhole angel in my tank this size, right now i have some lr, 2 clarki clowns, and a cleaner shrimp and some crabs, wanted to get one more fish and saw a keyhole angel at the lfs, can i keep him safely with what i have

i think it should be fine

even though it says 50 g minimum.. that is just recomended.. theres no rules... if u plain to keep another angel i wouldnt do that but if its just that guy u should be fine IMO

i just want to add one more fish, and was wanting either the coral beuaty, or the keyhole, so my tank would then have three fish, the 2 clarki clowns, and what ever else it is i add, but it needs to be reef safe, right now i just have some mushroom rocks, but i want to add polps, zoas and zenia

well i went to my lfs and got a orange dot unicorn tang and a singaphore angel, and before i get hauled off by the tang police, he was like 12 bucks so i couldn't pass him up, and i have a 58 he will be going in when he gets bigger

ya probably not, but thats okay, thanks for the advice, but 12 bucks wont get much coral wise so i will have to settle for the tang.

58 isnt that bad for a small tang....but he will need at least a 120-150 when he matures. A local reefer here has kept a juvenile powder blue tang in his 40 breeder and the fish is happy....but he will be going to a 220g in about 6 months

I sometimes wonder why people ask for advice when they arent going to listen anyway? lol.

Good Job on that 12 dollar tang. They only get to be 2 feet and min. tank size is 180 gallons lmao.
I'd say live aquaria is pretty accurate on their tank size recommendations.

I REALLY hope you were kidding.

Yeah sometimes I bend the rules with fish and tank size but I said that about the angel because I have dwarf angels and know they need alot of space. A pygmy/cherub would have been fine in there.
Even with tangs a 58 wouldnt have been that bad for some but you picked the biggest one.
If you werent kidding I'd try to find a new home for it.

kass

I'm not going to take him back today, but if he starts to out grow my tank I will either upgrade, which i want to do, or just have to take him to the lfs and trade him, right now he is like an inch long, he's not going to be the max size tomorrow, so I can keep him in my set up now and as he gets bigger put him in the 58, and when he out grows that, see where i am with getting a large tank and go from there, but for the time being, he will be fine in the tank he's in now, I just couldn't pass him up, for the same fish, just a little bigger they want 49 bucks, so when the lady said he was only 12, I was not going to say no, worse case take him back when he is at medium size and get more on his trade.
