they are closed up, i dont see any nudis on them but something is bothering 3 of my frags...

i went to petco and didnt see lugols, i saw tetracyclene and a few other treatments...

what else can i use apart from lugols for the dip? what will help them "heal" up?

Before you do anything, have you tested your water?
Also, can you post a pic? Get as close as you can while still staying in focus.

Those look like hell! Sorry man.
What's your alk?
How long have then been in your tank?

The last time I saw zoas (and palys) do this was from a severly elevated salinity. I'm sure someone else will chime in to try and help. I might hold off on dipping for now. It might do them in completely.:(

I guess.
The elongated stalks and shriveled skirts are not a sign of good health. The colonies to the left of the center colony is what they should look like, don't you agree?

Oh ok DUR didnt even notice that. :) I was looking for little, tiny, shriveled balls of death!!

To be honest I get this from time to time with my palys and they seem to recover fine. Hmm....

Don't know the cause.

Rev, of all the people on this board you're one of the guys I like to think of very knowlegable when it comes to zoas. That's why your post had me perplexed.

More then likely, your zoas do a turn around because your tanks chemistry is probably right on and well established.

I have had this happen to paly's mostly and they mostly died and then the one or two that survived grew into a colony.

The first time was from a superior bone headed miscalculation on my salinity.:wildone:

The second time was from my alk falling through the floor. Again, another bone headed move on my part.

I'm not sure of how many parameter problems cause this, but it would be dilligent to do some water changes (check your salinity:)) and raise your alk a bit.
