I have a torch frag that I had for a couple weeks... Everything seemed fine untill today... The whole thing shrank and is now gone!!? I tested the water and everything is perfect... Except I havnt been running the cooling fans and found out that my water has been at 86 the last 2 days... Could this be why? My water is now at 79....

Yeah, thats why. Torches (at least mine...) start to look like crap past 84 degrees, you really have to keep an eye on temperature. Is there any tissue left or did the whole thing bail out?

Anytime, sorry for your loss! I know right where you are at and I know its been hot. I'm closer to the ocean, but I still keep the lid up on my tank all day with an extra stand fan that I set up on during the summer months. Just opening the canopy and doors to the sump during the day will help keep your tank a lot cooler. Good luck & happy reefing!

Ya its been like 100 degrees here the last couple days and I have not been sober for a couple days since its labor day weekend and I totaly forgot about the cooling fans...

Yeah, I'd invest in a $20 fan thats on a stand and just open up your canopy and sump to let air in to keep it cool. You could put those cooling fans you have on a timer too or something couldn't you?

I have fans already... I have 5 8" clip on fans in my canopy and one fan on my sump...and also the air conditioning vent is directly located in my canopy... It was 86 today and when I turned all my fans on its now at 78 in a matter of hours... I was just a ******* that forgot to turn them on...

true, I almost died last time I tried to change some wiring down in the stand... Or I could just put them on my RK2 and control them that way?... If the water drops to 76 is that ok?

Could do that too. 76 is fine. I try to keep my tank between 76-78, some people say 78-80 is better, but I have had no problems, I'd say anything between 76-82 is *safe* as long as its not swinging from one end of the spectrum to the other, just try and keep it stable. :)
