I recently had a giant cup mushroom and a few blue mushrooms melt down..it started with the cup (shrinking and then just falling apart like an anemone does when it dies). Now other shrooms are looking puckered...I'm worried so I did a 50% waterchange and removed all i could of the dead cup mushroom, added a polyfilter, carbon and amquel to the water. My alk was 12.5 so could this cause it? Or would the high alk indicate a lack of calcium that could bring this on? My husband has been closing the glass canopy at night so I thought maybe a PH swing brought on by this could also be the problem...any ideas? This morning after the waterchange everything looked a little shriveled...hope i didn't make the situtation worse...I just need to track down the cause of the crash. Fish look fine so I'm not sure what is going on.
The cup was the centerpiece of my tank he was so huge and he was doing great until a couple of days ago
